Akseli Gallen-Kallela: The Lair of the Lynx.
Oil 1906, 98 x 67
Private collection.

Nature never ceased to inspire Akseli Gallen-Kallela, who was intimately familiar with the light nights of the Finnish summer and the sparkling snowdrifts of winter. This work, painted at Konginkangas represents a period in Gallen-Kallela's oeuvre, during which he painted numerous freshly coloristic landscapes.

Nice line!
