The Gallen-Kallela Museum lends from its collections objects, artworks and other materials for exhibitions to receiving parties than can ensure secure conditions for them throughout the loan period. Enquiries concerning works in private collections can also be addressed to the museum. We will pass on enquiries to collections that have stated their desire to lend works.

The loan process must be started no later than 6 months before the intended loan period and this is done by inspecting the materials of the collection. Study the museum’s collections on the internet and context the museum. We will help you find interesting material for your loan. One of the terms of lending is an inspection of the condition of the material. Following initial negotiations concerning the loan of material, the loan request must be addressed in writing to Museum Director Tuija Wahlroos of the Gallen-Kallela Museum, mailing address Gallen-Kallelan tie 27, 02600 Espoo.

The loan request must state the following:

– party loaning the material

–  name, date and venue of exhibition

– preferred loan period including shipping

– names and inventory numbers of objects requested for loan
