Gallen-Kallela Museum Dance Workshop

Dancing in Tarvaspää July 22nd 1pm

This summer we are dancing in Tarvaspää! On their journey to Kenya the Gallen-Kallela family saw the local peoples dancing on several occasions. Gallen-Kallelan Museum is hosting a dance workshop in the Tarvaspää garden in which participants get to try modern afro dancing. You don’t need any former dance experience to participate. The workshop is directed by dancer Juma Kalama. The dancing takes place outside so you can enjoy the garden and local nature while dancing.

The dance workshop is free and requires no registration in advance, all you have to do is show up on time! The workshop attendees are also welcome to join the English guided tour at 3pm of the Kenya Revisited exhibition. The dance workshop is held in English.

WELCOME! Note: Because the workshop takes place outdoors we recommend the use of sun screen and a hat. We also recommend bringing your own water bottle.
